Our website is going through some changes !

Some pages are up and running..

Some of our latest updates are below..

5.02.26 .. A Horses Legacy page on this site has been up-dated for anyone interested.

2.02.26 .. Hi all, it's that time of year again when we get the next yearly pet food pledge for the Hahndorf Interim Animal Shelter and the Minton Farm Animal Rescue Centre up and running. Last years pledge of 3,500 tins was achieved with 1712 kg or the equivalent of 4,280, 400g tins of wet or dry animal food delivered/receipted to the shelters. This overflow is very positive and will be reflected in my next pledge. Hats off to all who donated and have anything to do with what I do with the fundraisers. Last year's pledge period was in most part happy and kind. I'm hoping this year we can make it even better. Check out the new pledge for 26/27 on the fundraiser page on this site.Hope to see you all up in them thar hills with a few bob to throw in the tin or on the square card tap. Thanks again everyone! ooh roo, Richard :)

29.01.26 .. Mornin' .. Well, the Australia Day weekend did'nt happen for us this year, too hot for everyone concerned unless your downing a very cold beer like a lizard drinking!Elliott will be back with all things horsey this weekend between 12 and 2pm. Come and say G'neiggghhhhh!

21.1.26 .. Hi everyone, all things 4 Feet First Hahndorf are business as usual in the main street. Summer's been kind to us so far on the weekends with the weather within our temperature 'turn up' range policy. If it's over 32 between 12pm and 2pm where we operate in the shade, although all things wonderful continue in the main street, Elliott gets to stay home, snoozing under the tree.

15.1.26..Hi all, well it's back to business with the 4 Feet First attraction. Hats off to everyone out there who get what I do both on and off the field in and around Hahndorf. I've had a bite or could I say a neurotic reaction from my update below dated 18.12.25. This person has come out of the woodwork right on cue confronting me in a captive audience environment with their make believe fantasies. I have no doubt they are one of these community wrecking ball types taking aim at yours truly now coming out with even more ridiculous notions in regard to my good but not perfect character. To this person who has chosen to take it up a level, I'll say it again, I hope they can get some help soon.
I will continue to be who I am regardless with my heart always in the right place.
This nutter behaviour has become less and less over the years, hope to see y'all up in them thar hills! ooh roo Richard

31.12.25 .. Happy New Year ! Here's hopin' we can all have a safe, and happy time of it, keepin' it real and kind. See y'all on the other side up in them thar hills, thanks for the support everyone's sent my way over the past year, I'll keep payin' it forward round town and beyond in 2026. ooh roo, Richard :)

18.12.25 .. I've been getting some feedback just lately about a few troublesome types who still don't like what I do wanting to put all things Richard and 4 Feet First down. Seriously? Do I have to do this again. After 17/18 years on the front line in Hahndorf I'm surprised these folk are still hanging off my skirt to prop themselves up, swinging that community wrecking ball using yours truly as their subject matter. I've said it before a few times over the years. I hope they can get some professional help soon.
I'll continue to be that talk to anyone bloke with my heart always in the right place with a friendly hug and/or a chat to boot ! To those out there who choose to take it to that 'higher end of the scale' deviant level, malicously embracing my kind and friendly demeanor the wrong way, then attempting to influence and fool others with your false rhetoric, you'd do well getting your mind out of the gutter or you could head in any direction and keep goin'.

18.12.25 .. Merry Xmas everyone ! Well its been an interesting year that's for sure. The 4 Feet First horsey attraction has been trotting along slowly but surely throughout the year. Elliott has been doing his thing having his long lunches on the Main street in Hahndorf on the weekends. Once his bellies full he gives dad a nudge for his carrot dessert then it's off home to his brother from another mother. Hats off to all who make it possible for this farrier to carry on about town, keepin' it real.

21.11.25 .. Cooooo - ee! All things 4 Feet First is business as usual with our Hahndorf main st. activities trotting along. Hats off to all who support what were doing in our little corner. The next pet food delivery to the shelters has been scheduled for the first week in December. Thery'll be a bit extra in the Christmas hamper for the animals this year from us. ooh roo Richard :)

27.08.25 .. Hi everyone, all things horsey are keeping on keeping on in the Main St. of Hahndorf. The 4 Feet First attraction for some years now has been showing up 1 or 2 days a week to give all who visit the town an opportunity to get up close and personal with our friendly community horse named after the late Ellie, Elliott. At the same time people might be able to contribute to the 4 Feet First pet food pledges. Part proceeds of our horsey attraction go into to the tummies of animals in need with any spare going towards my wing man Elliott, the star of the show, being looked after.

Since the fundraisers began 4 Feet First have pledged and delivered/receipted just shy of 14 tonnes of pet food representing 35,000, 400 gram tins of wet food or the dry food weight equivalent. We make a pledge promise and keep it. This can't be done without the support of the food suppliers out there providing us with special bulk prices for the food we deliver, a huge hats off to them! The 4 Feet First attraction is all about give and take, just the other way round and back again. A big shout out and thank you to all who believe and support what were doing out there animal welfare wise and beyond, we'll continue to 'pay it forward' for as long as we're of some use around the place.
Hope to see you all up here in them thar hills ! Next food delivery for the shelters 16th September,

8.03.25 .. Hi all, well what a month it's been, still very dry unfortunately. Thank goodness the rains are just round the corner. All is going ok at the 4 Feet First attraction side of things, but just ok really. All these hot weekends are throwing us out a bit but we'll catch up somewhere down the track. Last years pet food pledge has been nailed. Hats off to all for the continued support. Next years pledge will be bigger and better than the last. We'll update in a couple of weeks with the details and create the new Canometer on the fundraiser page. Seems the world's going a bit crazy here and there. Be kind, take care and look after each other out there in them thar hills and beyond, ooh roo, Richard

5.02.25 .. Hi all, all is going to plan my end with all things horsey, sort of. The weather's been knocking it around a bit with the hotter days falling on the Saturday and Sundays this year. Too hot to be carting chicken mince around too. I've extended the deadline for this years pledge to the end of Feb 2025. Hats off to everyone I rub shoulders with for your continued support with our little attraction with a big heart in the corner there. We'll keep on keeping on aiming high for a positive result on and off the field.

11.01.25 .. A few folk have been asking why the horsey attraction hasn't been in town for a couple of Sunday's just lately. With animal welfare in front of mind, if the weather's over 32 degrees Ellliot gets to snooze away under the nearest gumtree. With Elliott's long lunches in Hahndorf going for a couple of hours, sometimes if the forecast's close we come in a bit earlier kicking off at 11am, like tomorrow:) Hope to see you up here in them thar hills !

1.01.25 .. Hi all, Richard ere' ... The 4 Feet Fundraiser is right on target to nail this years pledge by the end of Jan25. A new 'a horses legacy' pledge for 2025/26 is coming. The horse will be watching closer than we could ever imagine nodding her head at every step while Elliott gets the job done. Hats off to all who have chipped in both on the front line and behind the scenes with all that we're putting out there both with the Farrier and entertainment side. Ooh roo !

24.12.24 .. Here's Christmas again ! Hope everyone has a good one with whatever you're up to. Don't forget to say a prayer for someone who might be struggling in amongst all the ruckus. Hats off to all out there who've supported farrier boy over the past years while he's of some use around the place. I'll be payin' it all forward, ooh roo Richard
